Microdermabrasion for Acne

Clearogen Acne Treatment System

Microdermabrasion Treatment

Microdermabrasion is effective for reducing fine lines, “crow’s feet,” age spots and acne scars. It is also effective for treating dull skin, hyper-pigmentation, removing black heads, and whiteheads and for reducing oily skin.

Microdermabrasion stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen.

Microdermabrasion has proven to be a very popular nonsurgical cosmetic procedure. Some benefits of microdermabrasion are:

  • Leaves the skin with a fresh, healthy glow
  • Reduces pore size, improves acne scars
  • Improves skin tone
  • Non surgical, safe, effective procedure
  • Treatment can be used on all skin colors and skin types
  • No anesthetic required
  • Normal activities can be resumed immediately

Other things to take into consideration when choosing microdermabrasion treatments or microdermabrasion kits:

  • You may require multiple sessions and maintenance treatments.
  • An individualized skin care program may be recommended to maximize results from microdermabrasion.

How does microdermabrasion work?

Microdermabrasion uses a device that shoots tiny crystals across the surface of the skin, mixing gentle abrasion with suction that sucks away the dead skin cells, blackheads and whiteheads. Each microdermabrasion treatment can take between 30 minutes to an hour. The number of microdermabrasion treatments recommended for maximal results can range between 5 and 12. Microdermabrasion treatments are usually spaced from 2 to 3 weeks apart.

Microdermabrasion may be combined with other skin treatments such as light chemical peels. A light chemical peel will remove the dead skin cells from the skin’s surface layer and re-stimulate the regenerative process. Peels are derived from fruit, vinegar and sugar cane and include glycolic acid, TCA, and salicylic acid.

High doses of vitamins including vitamin A can also be added during microdermabrasion treatment to boost the skin renewal cycle.

Microdermabrasion is not a new technique. It was first used in Europe and adopted by United States in the late 1990s. Today, microdermabrasion and microdermabrasion kits are used effectively to treat acne and acne prone skin, fine wrinkles, stretch marks, and scars left from mild to moderate acne.

Although acne is blamed on bacteria and clogged pores, it does in fact start with stimulation of the oil glands by the hormone byproduct DHT. Stimulation of the oil glands by DHT leads to overproduction of oil which clogs pores and allows bacteria to grow - causing visible acne.

Most acne treatment options focus on opening clogged pores and killing bacteria to get rid of active breakouts. The Clearogen acne treatment system offers a long term solution by taking the fight one step further and addressing the root cause of hormonal acne, DHT. Using cutting-edge ingredients and innovative science, Clearogen combines the acne fighting power of Benzoyl Peroxide, Salicylic Acid and Sulfur with active botanical extracts that prevent acne development caused by hormonal fluctuations. Clearogen’s unique ingredients specifically target and reduce levels of DHT that, when left untreated, allow new acne breakout cycles to start.
